The King County Flood Control District is preparing a Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the Lower Green River Corridor Flood Hazard Management Plan.

During this scoping process, the county is looking at three different alternatives, including a “moderate geographic extent of increased level of protection” alternative, a “greater geographic extent with increased level of protection” alternative, and a “no action alternative.” The county’s ultimate selection of an alternative will have impacts of development options within the Green River Valley—primarily Tukwila, Renton, Kent, and Auburn.

If you have any comments on the scope of the environmental review, contact King County Manager Jennifer Anderson, 425.460.8240. Or, to comment directly with the county, visit Determination of Significance and Request for Comments.

The Scoping Comment Period for the Programmatic EIS has been extended until 5 p.m., April 1, 2019. Additional information is available on the project website.
