As part of the Puget Sound Regional Council’s (PSRC) Vision 2040 update, a draft supplemental environmental impact statement (DSEIS) is evaluating three growth alternatives: stay the course, reset urban growth, and transit-focused growth. The council will choose one of the three (or more likely a hybrid combination) that will become the foundation for multi-county planning policies, countywide planning policies, and comprehensive land use plans in the four-county planning region for the next 30 years—including King, Snohomish, Pierce, and Kitsap counties.

Your association submitted a comment letter in April, asking about the implications of the transit-focused option for the jobs-housing balance in the future; requesting that actual regional growth patterns be recognized, since none of the three alternatives reflect it; and requesting that the DSEIS clearly explain and define what “consistency with vision” means in plain English.
