By 2050, the four-county region of King, Snohomish, Pierce, and Kitsap is expected to add 1.8 million people, reaching a total population of 5.8 million. An anticipated 1.2 million more jobs are forecast by 2050.

The Puget Sound Regional Council (PSRC) predicts that by 2050, the region’s population will be older and more diverse, with smaller households than today. Planning for this much growth is challenging, and the leaders of PSRC’s Growth Management Policy Board describe VISION 2050 as “a guidepost for how the region will work together to tackle these challenges and make the region an even better place to live in the years to come.”

The draft plan was released on July 19, starting a 60-day comment period. Your association will submit comments and keep you up to date on the process. Read the draft plan.
