The city of Redmond is moving forward towards final approval of the Cultural Resources Management Plan, tentatively docketed for the City Council on December 3. The Council heard a presentation from Planning staff on October 1 about the details of the plan, including its components, and had the opportunity to make any final amendments prior to potential adoption in December.

The plan is the result of significant site and artifact disturbance that happened in Phase I of the Bear Creek rehabilitation project in 2013. A Memorandum of Understanding between several tribes and local jurisdictions, including Redmond, resulted in several years of negotiated settlements and remediation, including the plan. The plan was originally intended to take effect in 2017.
