Several King County cities succeeded in receiving state Department of Commerce planning grant funds for work on increasing housing density. The funds are available due to this year’s passage of MBAKS priority legislation House Bill 1923.
Bothell, Covington, Redmond, Shoreline, Auburn, Burien, Federal Way, Kent, Tukwila, Renton, and Kirkland will all receive planning grants to fund housing action plans and code changes to increase urban residential building capacity and streamline development regulations.
