At its Planning Committee meeting this week, the Snohomish County Council heard its first briefing on the upcoming Countywide Planning Policy (CPP) update process. The CPPs are an integral part of the 2023 Comprehensive Plan update.

Key questions brought up by council and your association include how the docket process and CPP process intersect and how will “consistency” be defined as it relates to the County’s CPPs, Comprehensive Plan, and the Puget Sound Regional Council’s Vision 2050. While seemingly dry topics, they are crucial in determining whether the next comprehensive plan update makes available more land or not. Review the presentation heard by council.
