Snohomish County Tomorrow’s Planning Advisory Committee has begun work on updating policies related to countywide growth (mixed-use) and industrial centers. The centers policy is a portion of the larger Countywide Planning Policy update, scheduled for August 2021 adoption. The policies form the framework for the 2024 Comprehensive Plan update.

Cities are currently working to identify locations for the centers within their borders, and will then work cooperatively with Snohomish County to identify center locations in unincorporated areas. The exercise is important because PSRC’s Vision 2050 places emphasis on population and housing allocations in these areas. See Countywide Centers Overview.
