Lake Stevens Adopts Infill and Redevelopment Code

This week, the Lake Stevens City Council adopted a new infill code amendment, adding positive tools and flexibility for redevelopment. This code amendment implements House Bill 1923 to increase housing supply through infill development of duplexes, triplexes, and fourplexes in single-family zones.

The amendment allows for up to a 20% reduction of lot area and width, a 5% increase in the impervious surface allowed in underlying zone, and a 20% density bonus for qualifying infill lots of an acre or less. MBAKS worked with the city on the amendment—as well as the Subdivision/PRD and Zoning Code changes—for quite some time and this was the final piece to be adopted.
