This week, the Arlington Planning Commission discussed the city’s Housing Action Plan and a draft of their Housing Needs Assessment (HNA). The city received grant funding allocated by the Washington State Department of Commerce, funded through HB 1923. The funding is being used for the development of a Housing Action Plan that will allow the city to recognize the housing needs of its current and future populations, as well as outline goals, policies, and strategies to meet those needs.

It is estimated the city will need 1,235 more housing units by 2035. The city aims for drafting the full housing action plan in July and to have a draft by October 2020. MBAKS will continue working with the city to get positive changes that facilitate more housing. View a summary of the HNA.
