This week, the Snohomish City Council adopted an ordinance that implements the maximum allowed flexible thresholds for the State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA) categorical exemptions for minor new construction. The new thresholds for residential construction are:

  • For single-family residential projects, up to 30 dwelling units;
  • For multifamily residential projects, up to 60 dwelling units

MBAKS supported the measure at planning commission and with the city council. The council passed it unanimously without any concerns from council members or the public. View the staff report and ordinance.
