On Thursday, July 2, the Shoreline Planning Commission was introduced to the 2020 batch of Development Code amendments. This batch includes administrative changes, clarifications, and policy amendments that have the potential to substantively change development patterns throughout the city.
The proposal includes:

  • Administrative approval for final plats
  • Site configuration clarification for townhomes
  • Thresholds for building design
  • Clarification on how walkway separation is regulated
  • Payment schedule for replacement trees that cannot fit onsite
  • Tree replacement requirement if roots are damaged by construction
  • Clarification for when a private street is required

The Planning Commission will discuss at its Aug. 6 meeting, with a public hearing tentatively scheduled for Sept. 3. To learn more, view the staff report.
