Snohomish County Planning and Development Services has released its annual tree canopy report. The report is a code requirement adopted when the current canopy approach to tree regulation was adopted. Your Association pays particularly close attention to these reports as they underscore the success of the progressive tree canopy approach.

The 2020 report details that every proposed landscape plan submitted during the year met or exceeded canopy requirements. Also in 2020, 2,844 new trees were planted, to go along with retained trees, totaling 2,054,772 square feet of canopy area. The total represents 6% more tree canopy provided by developers than required by code. Read the full report here.
