The Sammamish Plateau Water and Sewer District (District) held a public hearing on March 29 on the 90-day emergency sewer connection moratorium. During the meeting, no decision was made to lift or extend the moratorium which remains in effect until May 24, 2021. Following the meeting, the District stated that many questions remain. These likely include consideration of an engineering design contract between King County and the District for improvements necessary to address local sewer capacity issues in the Sammamish Plateau North Sewer Service Area.

MBAKS submitted comment for the public hearing, as did King County, which continues to negotiate with the District over local service improvements. The District will provide City Council with an update at Council’s April 6 meeting which begins at 6:30 p.m. No materials are provided in the packet for the presentation.
