Responding to MBAKS and member concerns over cost, Snohomish County Public Works has adjusted its final lift bond calculation worksheet. You can access the worksheet and other supporting documents here. The reduction in cost comes to about 12% using a 20-foot-wide paving project for a 1,200-foot public road as an example. Some of the worksheet changes include removal of subgrade repair costs, lowering the utility adjustments and joint sealant costs and removing a safety factor from the asphalt tonnage calculations. We will continue to engage with Public Works to further lower costs, as the burden is still considered by industry to be too high.
