This week the Snohomish County Council unanimously passed Ordinance 22-073 related to permit extensions. Permits such as Land Disturbing Activities (LDA’s) and Flood Hazard Variances are now eligible for an 18-month extension. The applicant must submit the extension request prior to expiration of the existing permit. The Council also adopted an amendment granting the Department of Public Works a similar option. The County Executive is expected to sign the measure making it effective in approximately 10 days to two weeks. MBAKS staff was on hand to testify in support of the ordinance and you can find the ordinance and related documents here.
