On Monday October 2, the Tukwila City Council voted to increase SEPA exemption thresholds. MBAKS applauds the Council for approving the following thresholds at the maximum allowed by state law, facilitating much-needed housing within the urban growth area:
- Single family: 30 units
- Single family with square footage less than 1,500 sf: 30 units (below the maximum of 100 units)
- Multifamily: 200 units
MBAKS testified in support of this update, which will help bring Tukwila in line with legislative directives, save staff time, and reduce costs in the homebuilding process.
