The Master Builders Association met recently with Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) staff, multiple utility interests, and State Senate Transportation Committee Chair Senator Steve Hobbs’ office to work towards improving WSDOT permit review times. The agency has experienced considerable change in staff in the past 12–24 months; an updated organizational structure and contact information can be found here.

Residential applications relating to WSDOT should be sent directly to Randy Frantz, who is responsible for assigning reviewers. The agency stated that they hope to have worked through their project backlog by this summer. They also encouraged applicants to set up pre-submittal meeting with their staff.
