SDOT Working on Policy for Extension of Street Use Permits

Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) Street Use Division is currently working on a way to allow deferral/waiver of fees for projects shut down due to the Governor’s Stay Home, Stay Safe order.

During this unprecedented time, SDOT does not currently have the authority to waive fees. They are in the process of seeking the authority and mechanism to defer/waive fees for this scenario from the city’s Budget Office and Mayor’s Office. SDOT has been working on this policy since late March and hopes to have more guidance on this soon. For now, SDOT will hold extension requests and follow up once they have a path forward.
