Claudia Balducci

Councilmember Balducci first became active in civic life when she joined her neighbors to advocate for the revitalization of the Lake Hills community of Bellevue. She went on to serve as on the Bellevue City Council, including one term as Mayor. She is a regional leader, serving as chair of the Sound Transit Board’s System Expansion Committee, president of the Puget Sound Regional Council and chair of the County’s Affordable Housing Committee. She believes that government should tackle the big issues that matter to people, notably housing, transportation and the environment. Councilmember Balducci represents King County District 6 on the Eastside, and in 2022 was reelected by her colleagues to chair the King County Council for a third year.

Tom McLeod

Mayor Tom McLeod, was elected to the city council in 2016, and elected mayor in 2023. His financial expertise as a tax accountant has shaped Tukwila’s fiscal policies and accountability. As the former chair of the Public Safety Committee, he prioritizes expanding safety infrastructure. He advocates for police body cameras, use-of-force policies, and optimal working conditions for first responders. He also contributes to the Transportation & Infrastructure Committee, implementing the Neighborhood Traffic Calming Program and enhancing roadway safety. Before joining the City Council, he served on the Tukwila Planning Commission, focusing on sustainable city growth. Mayor McLeod currently represents Tukwila’s interests on the Growth Management Planning Council of King County and works to increase housing stability through the South King County Housing and Homelessness Partnership.
