The Developer Builder Issues Council is the strategic lobbying arm for regulatory issues in Snohomish County and its local municipalities. Members are invited to participate in roundtable discussions on local issues affecting day-to-day business and stay in the know with weekly newsletters.

    The document is important in that it helps inform the Buildable Lands Report and ultimately the next comprehensive plan update. Numbers indicate that Snohomish County population has grown 16.4% since 2010, to reach 830,500 residents as of April 1, 2020.

    The city of Edmonds has created a web page for interested persons to follow and participate in the update of its tree code. The city has taken the unfortunate step of adopting a four-month development moratorium until the project is complete.

  • Everett City Council Adopts Rethink Zoning

    Rethink Zoning was a multiyear initiative to update, consolidate, and simplify the city’s zoning code by building on the success of the Metro Everett Plan. MBAKS submitted comments supporting the positive changes in the amendments and asking the city to continue the work on other pro-housing measures.
