Melissa Irons
Marketing & Operations Manager, Irons Brothers Construction, Inc.
In 2008 Melissa retired as a surgery room nurse and joined Irons Brothers Construction as co-owner with her husband Joseph. Melissa uses her background in nursing, management, and customer service to keep the showroom, office, field, and personnel systems running smoothly. Currently serving as the chair of the MBAKS Remodelers Council, she has been named Remodeler of the Month at NAHB and Remodeler Member of the Year at MBAKS. Her favorite part of remodeling is the satisfaction of a client who returns home to their new and improved life.
Luellen Smith
Senior Vice President, Design Consultant, Rhino Wine Cellars & Cooling Systems
Luellen Smith and her husband, Doug, have been creating beautiful custom wine cellars and saunas for over 30 years. She has been on the MBAKS Board of Directors and held chair positions on several councils. In addition to her involvement with MBAKS, Luellen currently serves on the BIAW Executive Board as Secretary and as NAHB PWB Trustee, among numerous other positions at the state and national level. Luellen has received many of the industry’s top honors, including PWB Sandy McAdams Woman of the Year, T-REX Award for Remodeling and Design Excellence, and MBAKS 2021 Associate of the Year.
Jennifer VanderBeken
Administrative Manager, VanderBeken Remodel
With both her father and grandfather being Seattle area homebuilders, Jennifer grew up in the industry. After spending several years teaching elementary school, Jennifer and her husband Ron took an opportunity to start their own business. Just shy of fifteen years later, VanderBeken Remodel is continuing to grow while providing professional development opportunities and advancement for team members, loyal relationships with specialty trade partners, and an exceptionally positive remodeling experience for clients. At MBAKS, Jennifer has served on both the Remodeled Homes Tour and REX/T-REX Award Committees along with serving as the Remodelers Council Chair in 2021.
